Statement of Qualifications
Jeanne Wright has over 23 years experience as an archaeologist, performing all aspects of field archaeology including intensive survey, subsurface testing, monitoring, excavation and data recovery. She is a capable prehistoric and historic archaeologist experienced in recording and analyzing a wide variety of cultural resources from Native American and historic sites in the Intermountain West, Northern Rocky Mountains, Great Basin, Sierra Nevada’s, the southwest, western Oregon, and Hawaii. As a contracted consultant for the Idaho Transportation Department, the USDA Forest Service, the BLM, and Idaho Fish and Game, and private organizations, she has helped various projects meet federal and state compliance standards. Ms. Wright has experience writing technical reports that have successfully passed the review process in a timely manner with minimal revisions necessary.
Ms. Wright has served as an archaeologist and cultural resources consultant for federally funded projects including the preparation of reports in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966, as amended, and meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines [48 FR 44738-44739] for professional archaeologists.

Background Research and Historical Context Development
Ms. Wright has conducted state site record, previous survey, Sandborn Fire map, Government Land Office map, county courthouse plat and land record searches in various states. In addition to utilizing the previously mentioned resources, Ms. Wright has developed an extensive working bibliography of regional and local histories.
Phase I - Intensive Survey and Subsurface Testing
Based on landscape history and local soil profiles, Ms. Wright has conducted effective Phase I investigations including intensive pedestrian surveys and subsurface shovel testing for both large parcel and linear projects in urban and rural settings. Data collection is the most important part of the Phase I process; Ms. Wright keeps detailed notes, site records, artifact descriptions, maps, and photographs for proper analysis and later, report production.
Phase II – Testing and Evaluation
During some of her field investigations, Ms. Wright has performed Phase II testing to determine the eligibility of cultural resources.
Phase III- Mitigation through Data Recovery
Ms. Wright has experience in data recovery from a wide range of projects. She has participated in excavations throughout the western U.S. and Hawaii. Well practiced in various excavation and sampling methods, Ms. Wright has the expertise to plan and conduct Phase III work in a diverse range of locations. During her career, Ms. Wright has collected and managed data for large-scale excavations.
Data Analysis and Report Preparation
During school, small-scale, and large-scale projects, Ms. Wright has processed artifacts, conducted laboratory testing, artifact analysis, and data compilation. She has authored several project reports for various state and federal agencies with State Historic Preservation Office approval.
